Only paper bags of yard waste or personal containers under 75 pounds with contents will be picked up curb side.    You also can place small piles cut in proper dimensions of limbs at the curb.     That is limbs!  No mulch, pine straw, or piles of weeds will be picked up!  The later items must be in containers. 

Tarps are not allowed for pickup.   Some drivers and crew might occasionally pick tarps up, but they have actually been instructed to not touch them.  

Place all yard waste curb side no sooner than the day prior to your scheduled pickup!

Placing it out sooner subjects you to fines starting at $150 from Code Enforcement. 

You have an opportunity to exchange plastic garbage bags at Solid Waste on Otts Drive this Saturday morning for paper bags.    Mecklenburg County is not distributing free bags this year.    Cost last year was over $100,000 for free bags.   Charlotte decided to do the bag swap to kick off the fall leaf season.
