Mrs. Amundsen,

Thank you for approving my application for access to this site, although I do have a few questions about that.

When did this site transition to a members only site? I ask because as a longtime resident I've been apart of several conversations on here in the past and was quite taken back when I tried to access this site (as encouraged by our newsletter) only to find that I was "not authorized to view the requested page." I was also surprised that I had to submit my request twice before being granted access.

While I have no problem with this being a members/neighbors only site, it might have been a good idea to have included in the newsletter either notice or a reminder that changes had been made. Communication is a wonderful tool when used correctly. I say this because as someone who has used this site before, if I wasn't aware of the changes, I'm sure that there's many others out there who don't as well.

Lastly, does the board have anyone who monitors the neighborhood Facebook page? I ask because after having been originally denied access to this page and having submitted my original request about 2 weeks ago, I tried to raise these question to the board's attention on the Facebook page and got a lot of interaction from neighbors but not one board member commented or engaged in the conversation. I would suggest that even though that page is a closed group that the board should at least monitor the conversations if for no other reason but to know what is going on and being said within the community.

As a specific example of a reason to monitor the Facebook page, there was a picture posted and questions raised about a "For Rent" sign that was taken on the front lawn of a townhouse. Having been a resident of Mansion Farm since 2001, it's been my understanding that it's in our deed restrictions that townhouses are not allowed to be rented. If there's been any changes to this policy I'd be VERY interested to learn about it because I know how difficult it has been over the years trying to get small changes to our by-laws passed, let alone something like that. At the very least I know that I have not received any addendums to our by-laws in many years, which I would think would be a natural next step if changes were somehow enacted.

I look forward to your response and thank you for the work that you do and have done as a member of our board. I know that it is often a thankless job.

Sincerely,

Bill Miller

Good Morning Bill, You are welcome. I??™m not sure why you were bounced off the site or the need for more than one request for membership. I only saw the one and responded. To my knowledge the site has always been ??œmembers only???. No recent changes have been made regarding membership. Sometimes the site has it??™s glitches. Regarding Facebook, we have a Mansion Farm Community site that was started about 2yrs ago. It is not regularly used by the residents the last post being 2/2016. The Mansion Farm/Carvel site is the older site and is not monitored as it takes extensive time sorting through all the posts that have nothing to do with Mansion Farm to find those that do. A resident informed me about the ??œFor Rent??? sign and the realtor involved was immediately contacted and informed of our Deed Restrictions. There was communication with the owner also and the sign removed. It is our policy not to allow rentals. We do allow Lease/Purchase agreements when a proven need is shown and these have a 1yr expiration. It has been brought to our attention that there are rentals going on in the Townhomes and they are very difficult to track down without specific information. Due to the cost of printing and mailing the addendum(s) to the Deed Restrictions or By-laws to 413 homes they are posted on the Neighborhood Link site. The cost of printing and mailing the Newsletter and bills was well over $500. We??™re happy to see that many new members have joined this website. Thanks for getting in touch, Jean AF Amundsen President MFMC Board of Directors
