So if you want Free Leaf Bags if you go to a full service Solid Waste Center you will be able to pick up a supply for your leaves soon.

County Solid Waste prefers only paper bags be used for leaves.   These leaves and bags will decompose and can even get wet in rain and hold together.  

I  am on the Waste Management Advisory Board  for Mecklenburg County and this information came up in our public meeting this past Tuesday.    

It was like 3 or 4 trailers of bags were on the way for dispersal.  

That bag program really only works if the trucks gets a entire load of bags in leaves.   City YW pays an extra fee for debagging plastic bags if the truck has unbagged leaves in it.    

You can also purchase bags at most Home Improvement stores.  If they don't have them asked them to carry them.
