Pool rules for 2020

Posted in: Willo-Esque
On my morning walk yesterday we noticed the pool cover was off and it looked like it was being cleaned. Has the HOA board heard if it will open on time and if so what the procedures will be for it to be used? I know our next meeting was postponed due to the virus and I feel like it would be great to see an update posted for the neighborhood via e-mail or even just posted on the pool house door. Thanks, David Hendershot

Dave, I too noticed the same yesterday.

I don't know when, or IF our pools will open this year. That is pretty much up to our WHA BoD. However I do know the following:

a) As of this moment the opening dates have been taken off our canendar. They were posted earlier.

b) There is an pool update posted on the "Our Info" tab of this website.

c) Valley Center stated that they would not open their pool this year and did not even want to prep their pools in case things improved. They felt they couldn't afford (or didn't want to spend) the cost of prepping for the potential of improvements. Should WHA be following their lead as Wichita hasn't decided as of yet? It costs money to prep a pool complex. Do we have the luxury of this expense considering there is over $17,000 in outstanding dues as of the last posted updated listing (05/12/2020). The outstanding dues amount ($$$) is over 20 percent of our yearly budget

I am guessing you got our email after sending this.  We knew we needed to update everyone on what is happening with the pool and other.  Hope it helped.

We are working on the pool to be sure when we are given the okay to open we will be able to do so.

We looked at a couple of options with regards to how to get the pool ready and chose to save the HOA money, Lori and I chose to drain and clean the pools ourselves with the direction of two men with a combination of 50 years of pool service and the pool manager.

I hope the community will appreciate and enjoy the pool this summer.   We are just waiting for the all clear to open at this point.  Right now phase 3 of reopening the State is June 8, 2020 so we have a little time to work on this pool in getting it ready.

Yes, thank you for the update. We should still post that note on the pool door for those who aren??™t checking their emails or aren??™t on this site. Thank you for the hard work.
