If you have a container that has food or product inside that you can't rinse out throw it in the trash.    

Food on the recyclable items makes it not recyclable!   

Remember NEVER BAG anything in that Green Recycling Cart  in Charlotte, NC or any Recycling cart in Mecklenburg County!

Paper mail / Newspaper!

Glass!

Cartons! 

Metal Cans!

Small Cardboard and Cereal Boxes!

All products above must be dry and clean!  

Be sure to close the lid on your recycling carts to keep items dry! 

Follow the above SIX!  Remember when in Doubt Throw It Out!

By not following the above you add to the cost of nearly 2 Million extra dollars a year in hauling cost to the Speedway Landfill from the Material Recovery Center aka MRF.   

Not to mention placing wrong items in the carts causes worker injuries, and equipment break downs!
