Good Morning Adopt a City Street Participant!

      I’m happy to report that you all are doing a fantastic job picking up litter throughout Charlotte. So fantastic, in fact, that bag pickup is starting to put some strain on Charlotte Solid Waste Department’s dispatch office.

 

To better process the number of bag pickups needed across the city after any given weekend, Solid Waste Services is requesting we move back to our original system. Instead of e-mailing the Solid Waste Services dispatch office directly, please call 311 the first business day after your cleanup (Monday through Friday 7AM-7PM) to have the city pick up your bags.I’ve also added a space on the pickup pre-registration form for you to indicate whether you’d like the city to pick up your bags; that way their office can be better prepared for your event.

Please remember to leave your bags curbside in a visible and easily accessible location and to give 311 as precise an address as possible for bag pickup. Remember, Solid Waste Services will not collect hazardous materials left roadside. These will need to be taken to a hazardous waste facility.

 

If you are able to dispose of your bags in your personal or company bins, you’re still more than welcome to! We appreciate all that you do to keep the city clean.
